New Moon
The Maiden aspect of the Goddess. I consider the New moon to be the moon when you see the
first sliver of light. Magically the New Moon is used for personal growth, healing magic and the
blessing of new projects. It is a time of new beginnings.
Waxing Moon
This is the period that falls between the New Moon and the Full Moon. Magically this is a good
time for attraction magic or spells and rituals that bring growth or are to grow in strength.
Full Moon
The Mother aspect of the Goddess. The Full Moon is the time for divination and all forms of magic
but it is the best time for magic that involves banishing and protection. It is a time of maximum
power. It is a great time to bless and charge items.
Waning Moon
This is the period between the Full Moon and the New Moon. Magically this is a good time for
banishing magic and to remove or reduce obstacles in your life, banishing and binding magic and
to remove negativity from your life. It is also good for spellwork and rituals to remove unwanted
habits and other things in your life that you do not want.
Dark Moon
The Crone aspect of the Goddess. The Dark Moon occurs three days before the New Moon. This
is the hidden moon, the hidden face of the Goddess. It is not visible for these three days. This is a
time of inner reflection and meditation on your life. The magic performed is that of self. It is a great
time for communication with spirits and deciding on goals. It is a time to seek the wisdom of the
Crone.
Blue Moon
The blue moon is the second full moon to fall in one calendar month. A blue moon occurs
approximately once every 2.7 years. The magic at this time is powerful.
Black Moon
The black moon is the second Dark Moon to fall in one calendar month. Any magic worked at this
time will be particularly powerful.
